Are you looking for a quick hike before or after work? Walking the Oakhurst Nature Trails is perfect. The trails allow you to stay in shape and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The Caney Creek River takes you through 32 miles of incredible scenery along with many wildlife species, including deer, songbirds, beavers, turtles, and otters. Cascade Caverns

If you are looking for more adventure than just hiking trails, Cascade Caverns is perfect for you. Located just outside of Conroe Tx, Cascade Caverns offers a fantastic tour that brings you through stalactite and stalagmite-filled hallways that human hands haven’t touched in millions of years! They also offer five different zip-lines during the summer months.

Creek Side Center

This is one of our favorite spots to visit. It’s located less than 15 minutes from downtown Conroe Tx on the banks of the Caney Creek River, right behind Lone Star College. The center features wildflowers, turtles sunning themselves on large rocks, butterflies flitting about wildflowers, kingfishers catching lunch at the river’s edge, and more birds than we can name (we’re not birdwatchers).

Over 10 miles of trails along the Caney Creek River banks wind their way through a beautiful forest. There’s also a large parking lot, which you can use to park your boat for an afternoon on the river.

Lone Star Park

Lone Star Park is a must-see destination in Conroe, Tx, if you enjoy horse racing and games! Each Saturday from April through July and then again from September through November, Lone Star Park holds live races with thoroughbreds from around the country!

Your whole family will have a blast with all of the excitement at Lone Star Park – we know we do! You can purchase advance tickets or pay less if you buy them when you get there. And don’t forget to stop by the K9 Club Restaurant & Bar for a relaxing lunch or dinner before or after you visit Lone Star Park!

The Woodlands

Are you looking for more of an upscale shopping experience? The Woodlands Mall is waiting for you when you visit Conroe Tx. You can explore the food court and specialty restaurants in the mall, too. It’s also home to many well-known name-brand stores like Macy’s and Gap, in case your family needs some new clothes to wear on your next vacation. There are over 200 shops in all at The Woodlands Mall!

Located just a short drive from downtown, the Waterfalls at Lake Ravenshade offer a great way to spend a springtime afternoon. There is also a fantastic hiking trail nearby that you can explore as well.

Cedar Hill State Park

Saint Arnold Brewery

This is one of the oldest breweries in Texas, offering tours for adults and children alike on Saturdays. You can find Saint Arnold on West Parkwood Avenue in beautiful downtown Spring Tx. They are open weekdays from 10 am to 5 pm, where you can purchase fresh craft beer by the pint or by the six-pack! And if you want a more private tour option, they offer special group rates for parties of 12 or more people.

Breweries are all of the rages right now, with many towns being home to their brewery. One of our favorite things about visiting Conroe Tx is that it’s just a stone’s throw away from some amazing breweries that have delicious options for everyone in your family. They offer a great water playground and zip lining for the kids, but if you want some quiet time in the Lazy River with your sweetie or friends, that’s acceptable too!
