Fiji’s weather patterns tend to be dictated by the seasons and the location of each island.

There is an arid period between May and August which means that it can feel quite hot during this time, so you won’t have the benefit of lush rainforest and cooling summer rains, but if you do visit Fiji during this period, then bear in mind that some activities may not be available which does depend on your specific itinerary, please check with our team for more information.

Please note that Fiji is made up of roughly 332 islands so weather conditions vary depending on location and while it may be hot in Nadi, for example, it will be a completely different story elsewhere as some areas such as Taveuni are known to experience colder temperatures during winter months and higher rainfall rates than others which means that you need to bear this in mind when making your travel plans.

The Island’s average temperature:

Nadi airport has an average temperature of 27°c throughout the year while Denarau Island has a yearly mean of 27.8°C, Suva’s mean daily temperature is 26.3°C. In contrast, Pacific Harbour which has higher rainfall and humidity tends to be slightly colder with a mean daily temperature of 25.4°C.

You can visit Fiji all year round, but these are some average temperatures that you may find useful when considering your holiday plans or booking your flights to Fiji. Enjoy reading more about Fijian weather here “Exploring Fiji – Things To Do & Places To Visit.”

Please note that the best time of year to visit Fiji’s islands such as Taveuni, Vanua Levu or any other island that is outside of Nadi and Denarau depends on your personal preferences and budget.

You may wish to visit a different island every week or you could enjoy staying put where you are for the duration of your holiday in order to relax and fully immerse yourself in Fijian culture.

The most popular time to visit these locations would be from May until November when it is warm but not too hot, humid but not unbearably so with rainfall at its highest which does vary depending on location although Nov-Feb tends to be drier than other periods which means that some activities may be available as opposed to other times of the year.

You could also visit any location all year round and the weather will be very similar with the exception of along the West coast when there is usually higher rainfall, but this isn’t always the case so please check with your team for more information if you prefer walking in lush rainforest and taking leisurely strolls on beaches that are covered in shells as opposed to hot temperatures, humidity & endless summer rains.
