Wesley Chapel is a city in Central Florida. It has some great family-friendly attractions like the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary and Fun Spot America, as well as plenty of dining options for all budgets. If you’re looking for things to do with your kids or just want to enjoy some downtime without breaking the bank, check out this list of fun activities that are available in Wesley Chapel!

Suncoast Primate Sanctuary:

This unique animal sanctuary is dedicated to providing a safe haven for abused, injured, and abandoned primates. It’s the only primate sanctuary in Florida that provides lifetime care for its residents! Residents include capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, ring-tailed lemurs, siamangs (a type of gibbon), Japanese macaques, black & white ruffed lemurs, red-ruffed lemurs, and other species too. You can take guided tours to see the animals or visit at other times during open hours. There are handling sessions on selected Saturdays where you can interact with some of the animals. The entry fee gets you into both areas plus unlimited use of their trails which are part of an established wildlife preserve.

Lake Park is a family-friendly park with several amenities, including two fishing piers, multiple playgrounds, and an amphitheater. There’s also a Nature Center where visitors can learn about the local environment. It’s home to many local events like concerts, plays, and festivals. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet to relax or just want to get your kids outdoors, Lake Park is perfect!

Lazer Xtreme:

This laser tag arena is located in Fun Spot America (see below). If you’ve ever been before, it might be surprising to hear that this feature made the list of things to do in Wesley Chapel! The reason is that Lazer Xtreme recently underwent renovations which really improved the facility. You can now play laser tag as a roving team, so there’s no more getting split up or left behind. You can also choose your color of gun now, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to see yours!

Sun Spot:

This is an awesome trampoline park in Wesley Chapel with tons of new and improved features. These include state-of-the-art wall padding on the walls, floors, and even ceilings. There are also 500 square feet of foam pits for extreme jumping fun! The kids will love this place too because it has a junior jump area just for them! If they get tired, they can chill out in the movie theater while parents recharge energy levels too!

Fun Spot America:

This is a good choice for family fun in Wesley Chapel. It’s a great place to stop on your way to Orlando since it’s only a short drive from the city. There are plenty of attractions here, including roller coasters and go-karts! The kiddos can let off some steam with an assortment of rides too. Then they can watch movies or play laser tag with dad while mom relaxes on one of the many benches throughout the park.

Cypress Cove Family Park:

This is another great park for families, and it has one of Wesley Chapel’s few splash pads! It also has a playground and a picnic area where you can enjoy your lunch. There are covered tables with benches which make it nice if the weather isn’t ideal. Summertime brings out plenty of local kids to play in the fountains. In fact, this is a popular spot for birthday parties too!

Pine View Golf Course:

If you’re looking for things to do in Wesley Chapel that will help you get into shape, why not try playing golf? This 18-hole course opened back in 1994, so it’s fairly new compared to other courses nearby! It was rated 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest and has an elegant clubhouse with great views of the greens. You don’t need any previous experience to play here, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more if you’ve had lessons or played golf before!

Wesley Chapel Sports Center:

This is a large sports center offering tons of activities for kids and adults. It’s especially popular for birthday parties because they can choose between two options—one that has arcade games and miniature golf included or another that just adds go-karts. This place is fun for everyone since there are batting cages, laser tag, ropes courses, escape rooms, bowling alleys, bocce ball courts, air hockey tables, ping pong tables, archery tag (similar to paintball), turf soccer fields & basketball,

Wesley Chapel Golf Club :

This is one of the best courses in Wesley Chapel, and it’s just a short drive outside of town. It’s easy to see why Golf Magazine readers voted it the #1 course in Florida for three years in a row! The water features are breathtaking, so you’ll want to bring your camera with you to the 18-hole golf course. There are also some great restaurants nearby if you decide to grab lunch or dinner after your round of golf.

Lake Park Recreational Complex:

This park will provide hours of fun for everyone who visits! It has two skate parks, four baseball fields, two softball fields, six basketball courts (including “Monster” courts), four tennis courts, and beach volleyball. Your kids will love these courts while you’re enjoying the covered picnic areas with BBQ grills.

There are also two playgrounds, a fishing pier, and several trails to explore. You can work up an appetite on one of these trails or at the sports fields since it’s important to stay healthy! Some Bring your own snacks & drinks are okay here while others will have their own concession stand for visitors who want food without leaving the park. This is only open in the summertime though, so be sure to check out the schedule before heading over!

Westfield Brandon Mall:

This mall has everything you could ever want in one spot! It’s about an hour away from Wesley Chapel, but it’s well worth the drive. If you like shopping or need to grab some essentials for your home, you can find nearly anything at Westfield Brandon. There are plenty of stores, including Victoria’s Secret and Gap (where you can find great deals on school clothes!). You probably won’t be able to finish all of the levels of the play area here. Your kids will enjoy it if they’re too small for the bigger rides at Fun Spot America!

There are also several places where mom & dad can unwind while watching their children have fun! The food court is always packed since there are so many delicious options. Many of the area’s restaurants have their own cafes here, including P.F. Chang’s, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chili’s, and Panera Bread! You can also bring your own food to eat in one of the boardwalk areas if these options don’t suit your tastes.

Fun Spot America:

This is a large park with thrilling rides for adults and kids alike! Everyone will love the roller coasters they’ll be able to experience on this family-friendly attraction in Orlando. There are five different levels of excitement—the top being Adrenaline Peak which goes upside down multiple times. The height limit is 52 inches tall for this level alone, but there are only two other attractions where you have to be over 52 inches.  

There are also plenty of other attractions for younger children including a log ride, go-karts, and bumper cars! If you want to keep your adrenaline going even longer before ending your day at the park, you can check out Rip Tide Bay Waterpark next door.

Hit the green at Lexington Oaks Golf Club:

There are three different 18-hole courses to choose from. If you’re a beginner or just aren’t that into golf, go with the Lakeside course since it has water and sand traps to keep things interesting. If you’re an experienced golfer who loves a challenge, try out one of the other two courses: Deer Run or Oak Hill. The Lexington Oaks clubhouse offers catering for your next event too! You can also bring your own snacks & drinks if you don’t want to purchase anything there.

Lake Louisa State Park : 

This state park is about an hour away from Wesley Chapel, but it’s worth visiting! While staying at Lake Louisa Resort (located inside of the park), enjoy kayaking on Lake Louisa, fishing off of the pier, biking & hiking trails, bird watching, and more! The resort has a swimming pool for added fun. If you would rather stay in your own recreational vehicle or pitch a tent at one of the campgrounds instead, that’s okay too!

There is also a snowshoe trail for wintertime activities. It takes about an hour to complete this trail which is perfect for most people since it won’t take up most of your day. These shoes are great exercise while trekking through the snow… then they can be turned into ice skates when you get back to your desired location! Lake Louisa State Park even provides some equipment so you don’t have to worry about renting them somewhere else. However, you will need to make a reservation ahead of time if you want to experience this fun feature.

Lake Tarpon:

This is another state park that’s about an hour away from Wesley Chapel, but it’s worth the trip! It has around eight miles of trails along with plenty of other activities such as canoe & kayak rentals for paddling on the lake and fishing in designated areas. This is a great way to spend some time outdoors while getting your exercise in and enjoying nature and fresh air. Not only do hikers enjoy exploring here, but joggers and alligator hunters come frequently too! There are also events hosted at Lake Tarpon throughout the year so check out their website for more info… maybe you’ll be able to participate in one while you’re there!
