The Best Places to Visit in Maine

1. Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park is Maine’s best-known attraction. The park has many hiking trails, scenic views, and wildlife for you to explore and enjoy! There are also many seaside paths which can take you through the pine forests if that’s more your thing. If it’s summertime,, there will be shuttle buses available in Bar Harbor, so don’t worry about finding parking or anything like that.

The best times to visit Acadia National Park would be during the fall when all of the leaves change colors into beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. You’ll get some fantastic photos without even trying too hard; nature does most of the work for you here.

2. Portland Head Light

Portland Head Light is Maine’s best-known lighthouse, and it just so happens to be standing on the point of land jutting out into the ocean. The best time to visit this location would also be during fall when all the leaves change colors. Depending on how much you want to explore, there’s plenty for everyone in Portland! If you like hiking or biking, Acadia National Park might hold your interest more than Portland.

The best thing about visiting in October is that some people say the city has a festival atmosphere because of Halloween and Thanksgiving being near each other. So if those holidays are always something you enjoy, then they’ll surely keep things exciting while in town too!

3. The Maine Lobster Festival

8 Ogunquit Beach

Ogunquit Beach is a popular summer destination in Maine, but it also draws crowds during the spring and fall. The best time to visit this beach town might be early November when fewer tourists around or mid-April when the weather conditions are more temperate. This lovely coastal community offers some of the best dinings at sea level! Highlights include Geddy’s Galley: lobster rolls for $12 and delicious fried clams from Pennervatives Seafood Shack.

I’ll never forget my first trip to Ogunquit Beach; it was love at first sight! I could feel the saltwater tingling on my skin while walking down Main Street with all those beautiful shops just waiting for me to explore them.
